Shyam Srinivasan (20.10.2025) • https://www.linkedin.com/in/shysri/ • Quality Manager - Compounding Devices • Frankfurt • Former CoFounder: Dymium developed a novel method for the residue-free removal of kidney stones using magnetic separation technology.

Context: • What are your main tasks? • His: • • Team: 20 -> ganze Produktlinie -> semi automatic robot -> doctors verschreiben Nährstoffe für Patienten -> werden per IVF eingeführt -> er baut den Roboter der das mischt -> auch Beutel und Zubehör und Nährstoffe und Disposable + 2 Softwareprogramme • Parental Ernährung or sth • HW und SW is within the team • They have Suppliers -> Zulieferer macht die Produktion (outsourced) • Audits • Wareneingangsprüfung they have to do (inspection) • They check every device - HW and SW • He does quality + operations manager • They have regulatory manager in another team • They are production unit & Zulassung • Ländereinheiten do the registration • It is only a MD in USA • Fresenius Kabi: 20k to 30k people • Fresenius total: 300k+ • Backoffice: • They have CAPEX responsibilities -> biggest part of accounting is at Fresenius Global • They have two people -> administrative staff does accounting but also other stuff - also does supplier, Wareneingang (part time) • Operations manager: warehouse, production, development • Team size and which roles? • • Which tools are they using? • A lot of different tools • He started automating - before a lot of manual • Global project management platform • Investigation bericht • Also lokale einheiten • Change control and non compliance software (Trackwise) • SAP for controlled documentation • Abweichungen etc. • For Development • Requirement Management Platform (Product, • Risk etc. • Vulnerability management system • SAP (production & warehousing) • GitLab • Winschill (CAD) • Creo (CAD) • (no document management system) • Microsoft Suite • They use Sharepoint • Opentext for Archivierung • DocuSign • Automation • He does PowerAutomate -> built a training process • Workflow he works on: •

His Experience & Current Practices • Day-to-day reality: What are the most admin-heavy processes in his finance role (invoices, reconciliations, reporting, payroll, compliance, audits)? • • Is he automating today? If yes, which tools (Excel macros, Zapier, RPA, ERP features)? • If yes: who does it? Which tools? What works? What does not work? • • If no, why not (cost, complexity, lack of time, no clear ROI)? • • More processes to automate: • • Other automations from other people / departments: • • Legacy systems: does he deal with them (accounting tools, banking interfaces, HRIS, ERP)? How painful are integrations? • • Successes & frustrations: if he had a “magic wand,” what would he automate first? • • Ask if he can introduce you to 3 peers in similar roles (finance leads in other startups). • Other: • OpenText has connectors: • Docusign send zu Unterschrifts • DocuSign and OpenText -> difficult: IT is centralised -> für jeden Zugang etc. have to call IT to get access. They look at the exact costs. They have to validate every system. Startups you have to assess if the startup can go bankrupt. Medizinproduktgesetze, Data Privacy. • Cybersecurity aspects are important. Is the SW delivered validated. Does it fulfill the intended use? (as they do MD) • It is impossible to validate every integrations • Accounting: there the regulations does not matter - as soon as it is related to product development -> validation. • He built 12 Excel macro -> he validated all of them • Automation: He does not really know if other teams do automation -> every Einheit is its own unternehmen • Do they have legacy software? • DocuSign -> OpenText and archiving (he is not 100% sure if they actually do not have API but he thinks no) • Large Aufwand: CyberSecurity and Vulnerability Management (Cyberbello) -> assessment of vulnerabilities -> all of this is doable in the tool -> there is no connection between security risk in Cyberbello you have to transfer to matrix maually and assess it there (bewerten). Atm 2500 vulnerabilities they have to validate (only 6 people can do it) -> he would need export data from one system and insert into the other system (Cyberbello is closed tool) • No further thoughts on use cases • Wareneingang: SAP does not have a function to split Waren die geprüft werden müssen vs. nicht geprüft werden-> could be interesting angle -> non conforming goods should affect the supplier assessment (-> they maintain a list) • Innovationlab is not really SW focussed -> focussed on own product
